When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts. Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.
Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T5 screwdriver.
Step 1. Protect the exterior screen with a film or similar.
Step 2. Remove the battery cover.
Step 3. Protect the interior screen.
Step 4. Using a thin plastic shim, release the clips surrounding the key pad frame.
Step 5. Bend the left side of the frame and release the clips as shown below.
Step 6. Bend the left side of the frame again and release clips.
Step 7. Use your shim on the right hand side of the phone to release the end securing clips.
Step 8. Repeat the same procedure for the final clip.
Step 9. Now you can remove the key pad frame.
Step 10. Remove the PDA key mat.
Step 11. Remove the nine Torx T5 screws in the order shown below.
Step 12. Remove the key pad assembly.
Step 13. Use your shim to carefully release the screen connector.
Step 14. You can now lift away the entire upper block.
Step 15. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to release the camera connector carefully.
Step 16. Remove the main circuit board.
Step 17. Again use your shim to push the camera out of its holder.
Step 18. Remove the camera.
Step 19. Using tweezers, remove the aerial.
Step 20. Remove power connector using a disconnected charger.
Step 21. Use your tweezers to remove the microphone.
Step 22. The battery frame assembly is held in place with six clips. Use your plastic shim to release them.
Step 23. Now move to the upper frame and start by removing the friction hinge as shown below.
Step 24. Use your shim to unlock the top cover.
Step 25. Remove the top cover.
Step 26. Remove the key mat taking note of its positioning.
Step 27. Use a dental pick or small flat bladed screwdriver to lever the clips holding the shield in place.

Step 29. With the clips released, remove the shield.
Step 30. Protect the LCD screen with a film or similar.
Step 31. Use tweezers to remove the earpiece.
Step 32. Use your shim or a flat bladed screwdriver to release the screen connector.
Step 33. Lift out and remove the screen.
Step 34. Use your shim to lever open the locking catch.
Step 35. Now lift out the locking catch.
Step 36. Use your shim to release the connector.
Step 37. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to open the clip on the left side of the phone.
Step 38. Repeat the same procedure on the right hand side.
Step 39. Lift out the user interface.
Step 40. The PDA screen is attached to the frame using double sided tape and can be released using slow steady pressure as shown below. Take care not to break the screen.
Step 41. Reassembly is a simple reversal of the above steps taking extra time to ensure that everything works as it should, and that you have caused no damage whilst inside the handset.
