When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts. Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.
Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T6 screwdriver..
Step 1. Remove the rear cover by pressing the release button in the direction marked as (1) below, then lift the cover away in the direction shown by (2).
Step 2. Remove the front cover from the phone starting from the top of the handset.
Step 3. Lift the key mat away.
Step 4. Remove the six Torx T6 screws in the order shown below.
Step 5. Use a thin plastic shim as shown below to remove the internal hands free lid.
Step 6. Protect the camera lens.
Step 7. Now you can simply lift the main circuit boards out of the chassis.
Step 8. Use your plastic shim to separate the LCD connector block from the main board. Take care not to bend or damage this connector.
Step 9. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to release the clips holding the screen shield in place.
Step 10. With the clips released, simply lift the screen shield away.
Step 11. Turn the frame over and the screen should fall away (make sure it lands somewhere soft!).
Step 12. Protect the screen, and try not to get any finger prints on it as these will show when you reassemble the phone.
Step 13. Remove the earpiece by pushing it out of the frame using your Torx driver.
Step 14. Remove the power connector either with tweezers, or using a charger jack (ensuring the charger is unplugged).
Step 15. Use tweezers to remove the microphone.
Step 16. As usual the vibra motor is held in place by friction and is simply removed.
Step 17. To remove the internal hands free lid, release the five clips shown below using a flat bladed screw driver.
Step 18. Turn the chassis over and lift away the internal hands free lid.
Step 19. Remove the internal hands free speaker using tweezers.
Step 20. Use your tweezers again to remove the connector assembly for the internal hands free speaker.
Step 21. Lift the power button out of the chassis.
Step 22. The following three photos show removal of the camera module, and are shown here for the sake of completeness. If you don't have the correct tool for camera removal, my advice is to leave it alone.
