When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts. Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.
Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T6 screwdriver.
Step 1. Press the release buttons and remove the top of the housing.
Step 2. Remove the body of the handset from the bottom of the housing.
Step 3. Protect the screen with a fil or similar and then remove the six screws in the order shown below and store them safely.
Step 4. Lift away the screen and user interface module.
Step 5. Lift the main board out of the chassis taking care not to damage any of the contacts or the RF gasket.
Step 6. Use tweezers to remove the SIM holder.
Step 7. If you disassemble the SIM connector ensure that you reassemble it correctly.
Step 8. Use tweezers to remove the headphone socket and power jack (all one unit).
Step 9. Remove the vibra motor taking care not to damage the sprung contacts. The microphone can be levered out with your tweezers or a flat bladed screwdriver.
Step 10. When removing the battery contacts take care not to damage or bend the sprung contacts.
Step 11. Release the two locks on the SIM spring.
Step 12. The lower side of the SIM spring must be unlocked first.
Step 13. Pull out the lower side of the spring first and then remove it from the top holder.
Step 14. The aerial is held in place with four clips. Release the two shown below.
Step 15. Now remove the aerial as shown below taking care not to damage the contacts.
Step 16. Remove the two screws on the user interface module.
Step 17. Release the retaining clips on the display frame.
Step 18. With the frame removed you can now simply push out the speaker.
Step 19. Reassembly is a simple reversal of the above steps taking extra time to ensure that everything works as it should, and that you have caused no damage whilst inside the handset.
